Brentis Jarryn Schaeffer (born January 26, 1986 in Deerfield Beach, Florida) is an American football quarterback. He is currently playing at the University of Mississippi, where he is entering his senior season. He transfered from the College of the Sequoias to Ole Miss prior to the 2006 season. He was selected as one of the nation's top-five impact junior college transfers by Lindy's magazine, as well as “Newcomer of the Year” in the SEC. Schaeffer started his college career at the University of Tennessee, where he became the first true freshman QB to start a season opener for an SEC team since 1945. However, Schaeffer later chose to transfer to the College of the Sequoias.
Schaeffer is a cousin of former Iowa Hawkeye quarterback and Heisman Trophy runner-up Brad Banks.
