G/O Digital is an American company that sells digital marketing solutions[buzzword] to local businesses and franchises in the United States. As of April 2016, the company had more than 482 employees. G/O Digital (pronounced “Geo Digital”) is a TEGNA Inc. company under the TEGNA Digital umbrella, with such brands as Cars.com, Cofactor, and CareerBuilder. The company is led by President and CEO, Tim Fagan.

In November 2018, G/O Digital discontinued most of its operations. The remainder of the company was rolled up and rebranded into its parent company, under the flag TEGNA Marketing Solutions.

History

G/O Digital began as a division of Gannett Co., Inc. and was named GannettLocal. In 2013, its name was changed to G/O Digital and combined digital advertising and marketing assets, BLiNQ, ShopLocal, Key Ring, Gannett Local and DealChicken, under the newly formed digital marketing agency G/O Digital.[1] G/O Digital operates from existing offices in Phoenix, Ariz. and Nashville, Tenn. In 2015, G/O Digital's parent company, Gannett,[2] spun off its publishing business and changed its name to TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA). TEGNA is composed of media and digital businesses. The spun-off publishing business retained the name Gannett Co., Inc.
