The Kadava Patidar (also variously spelled Kadwa, Kadva) are a sub-caste of the Patidar. They are mainly found in North Gujarat.[1] book|last=Murali|first=Kanta|title=Caste, Class, and Capital: The Social and Political Origins of Economic Policy in India|publisher=Cambridge University Press|year=2017|pages=109}}</ref> The name "Kadava" comes from "Kadi", a former district that existed during the Baroda State.[2] According to Shah in 1982, the Kadva Patidars have received extremely little attention from scholars in comparision to Leva Patidars, which was part of a wider trend among scholars that ignored north Gujarat.[3]
