Disoriented

As a reader of this article, coming at it cold, I am disoriented. The LEAD section does not say where and when the events covered by this article take place, why John Kid was an outlaw, what sort of occupation a minister was, what the covenant was, nor that [the 7th Laird of] Claverhouse was even a person, nor why King's body parts were displayed, with no mention of what was done to Kid' body after execution. Why is King even relevant. Sorry, I am lost! And I haven't even got to the table of contents. I do not want to read any further and am mystified how this article could be thought B class. An article like this needs a bit of background, of Kid and of Scotland, since most people are not experts in the History of Scotland and the names and events mean nothing if this is not explained. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 13:29, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
