Steve Gerald James Wright (born 24 April, 1958) of Ipswich, Suffolk, England, is a suspect in the 2006 Ipswich murder investigation. He was arrested on Tuesday, 19 December 2006 at his home, and charged with the five murders on Thursday, 21 December 2006.[1] [2] He appeared, briefly, before magistrates in Ipswich on Friday 22 December 2006, and was remanded in custody until 2 January, when he appeared before Ipswich Crown Court and was remanded in custody again until 1 May[3]
History
Wright was, at the time of his arrest, working in a local factory, having previously worked as a builder, a cruise ship steward, a pub landlord, and a fork-lift truck driver.[4][5] He moved with his girlfriend to the address where he was arrested a few months before his detention.
