The 1996 Tri Nations Series was the inaugural edition of the rugby union series test matches that determined the Tri Nations Series Champion amongst Australia, New Zealand and South Africa national rugby union teams. It was contested from 6 July to 10 August and the All Blacks defeated the Wallabies, in both tests, thus retaining the Bledisloe Cup won, the previous year.[1]
