Hi there. I saw you changed a long-standing redirect into a stub article, and then someone proposed its deletion. Since the topic has been stale for 15 years apparently, it's unlikely the article has WP:POTENTIAL. If you want to re-create it, please discuss it on the relevant Talk pages. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to reply on my Talk page. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:06, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Carrot official. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of unicameral legislatures".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} oder {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 18:34, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agriculture in Italy moved to draftspace

This is almost completely unsourced. As in, it's not missing references for a few statements, it's missing references for 99% of all text. Please don't put this into mainspace until sourcing requirements are met. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 21:31, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Italian football clubs established in 1967 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Redirects

Hello, Partofthemachine,

Please review Wikipedia:Redirect#Purposes of redirects. It is not helpful to make a redirect for every possible misspelling of a name. And if there is an article on Alexa Dectis, it makes no sense to create a redirect at Alexa Dectis (actor) because readers will just search for her name, Alexa Dectis, and are unlikely to add "actor" to their search terms. Redirects should be for alternative names & terms that readers might search for, not more complicated versions of their names. Wikipedia:Redirect has a lot of helpful information that will be useful if you choose to spend time on this editing task. You might also visit Redirects for Discussion where editors discuss whether questionable redirects should be kept or deleted. Liz Read! Talk! 05:58, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Serial Number 54129. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction, such as your addition to Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:GregJackP/Admin criteria. While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Thank you. ——Serial 21:51, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Giannis Nikopolidis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Kpgjhpjm 23:13, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Daniel Wu (soccer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTY.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ministry of Radio Technology moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Ministry of Radio Technology, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Block appeal

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Partofthemachine (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

(Note: This is largely copied from a previous appeal that I was not able to post on the talk page.)

I would like to take this opportunity to appeal the indefinite block I was given in April 2021. The reason I was blocked was primarily because of two factors. First, I nominated a largely legitimate user subpage for deletion because I disliked the user that created it. I now recognize that this was immature and a waste of editors' time. Second, I created user pages and user talk pages for new users even though this was not necessary, because those users can create pages of their own. Because it has now been over a year since I was blocked, I request to be unblocked per WP:SO. Partofthemachine (talk) 21:12, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

No objections to giving this user another chance. Graham87 06:43, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You forgot the part from your UTRS ticket where you described what constructive edits you would make. No unblock request is complete without that. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:52, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(Again mostly from the UTRS ticket.) I will engage in making mostly the same types of edits that I was making prior to April 2021 (aside from the ones that are considered unconstructive obviously), such as grammar fixes, topics related to programming and mathematics, and AFD discussions. Deletion discussion about Indigenous science

Hello, Partofthemachine, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Pppery, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Indigenous science, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indigenous science.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Pppery}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Indigenous science, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Your edits are not helping improve this article. If you want to help improve this article you are more than welcome but some of your recent edits have not been moving it in a useful direction.

For example you removed Karlie Noon from the article saying that she does not promote indigenous science. Maybe you missed the reference in her wikipedia article where she talks about her work research in Indigenous astronomy and weather predictions. That's ok we've all made mistakes, I know I have.

You also removed the links to traditional ecological knowledge and put it in quotes. That's not really helping people connect to additional parts of this area of study. TEK is a big deal if you search Google Scholar for "traditional ecological knowledge" you'll find over 45,000 articles. You replaced Indigenous knowledge with Indigenous beliefs. I am going to assume good faith WP:GOODFAITH and that you didn't make these edits out of malice. Please familiarize yourself with the literature of the subject before making changes. Community knowledge is not a belief, science is not a belief, they are knowledge. Dr vulpes (💬📝) 05:20, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr vulpes: Would you consider it an NPOV violation if the article on Noah's flood referred to it as "traditional Jewish knowledge"? Partofthemachine (talk) 14:28, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Partofthemachine, I think a better way to frame this isn't as two competing schools of thought. I've linked an article below from the ICSU and UNESCO that I really liked, it had some good examples of the points I was trying to make. Also Neil deGrasse Tyson had a good episode of StarTalk about Indigenous Science. As for here on wikipedia ArbCom has a couple of case that cover Pseudoscience that you might enjoy taking a look at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Pseudoscience (2006) and Clarification request: Pseudoscience (2020).
Since we're working with your example of Noah's flood I thought that some of these articles on flood management might help shed light on how indigenous science complements western science and local policy makers.

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. This is the only message I will leave here. I have very politely asked you to stay off my talk page. That is a perfectly normal request and on Wikipedia it is expected to be respected. I have been around on Wikipedia for a great many years and there are 629 people watching my talk page, there are 24,059 links to it and 2,733 editors have contributed to it. In 16 years you are only the 4th person I have asked to stay away. Take my advice, you have already invited sanctions and you are continuing to step on our policies. Enjoy your editing but do try avoid being a Wiki policeman until you have a lot more experience. Maybe Chris troutman is the person to ask, he's as experienced as I am - perhaps more so. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:09, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Partofthemachine, Kudpung is right when he says that the norm on Wikipedia is that when an editor bans you from their talk page, you stay away forever. I, myself, have been banned by two other editors from their talk pages (each about five years ago) and I respect their requests. If you have questions ask me but leave Kudpung out of this. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:51, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why you think I have an issue with doing that. Another user requested that I avoid his talk page about a year ago and I haven't commented there since. Partofthemachine (talk) 03:56, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the last comment I will make about this situation: I don't have anything against Kudpung, and I agree that he was right in discouraging the user in question from starting an RfA. I just think it would have been better if he had just linked to WP:NOTNOW instead of saying he would need to wait 3 years before even thinking about becoming an admin.
