- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

Please do not add original research oder novel syntheses of published material to articles. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. This notice refers to your flag additions to the following articles: Oakleigh East, Victoria, Oakleigh South, Victoria, Oakleigh, Victoria, and Cypriot Australians. Not only is it false, especially for the latter, but that flag doesn't represent those whole suburbs. Perhaps for the Greek population within those suburbs, but to misrepresent it by applying it for the whole suburb is inappropriate. —MelbourneStar☆talk 05:39, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Can you please provide evidence that this flag exists, beyond what's been uploaded to Wikipedia/Commons? I've tried verifying that this flag is indeed the Greek Australian flag but could not find it anywhere. Until you verify it, I've undone all of your additions of this flag. Thanks, —MelbourneStar☆talk 05:56, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Why is italian australian flag allowed if my greek one isnt, its just someone from the italian community who wanted to make a symbol for their community, just like i made for greek. Water Donkey (talk) 07:28, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- there are millions of other people who have made flags, and mine is not allowed. See irish australians, scottish australians, italian australians. How do flags come to be in the first place? People make them. Water Donkey (talk) 07:34, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Explain why this flag is right by you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_Australians. Or this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Australians. Or this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Australians. This isnt an invitation for you to vandalize these flags, just showing your hypocracy Water Donkey (talk) 07:39, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- What is your obsession with removing this flag of a random community to you anyway? Please stop taking down things. Its not really contributing, how are you making wikipedia a better place by removing an flag. Just because its unnoficcal Water Donkey (talk) 07:42, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- how does a flag even become real? does it have to be uploaded to reddit or other sites? doesnt make sense there are PLENTY of unnofical flags that are used to represent communities, i dont see the problem Water Donkey (talk) 07:43, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- I agree about the oakleigh that was dumb but i have the right to put it on greek australians Water Donkey (talk) 07:31, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hypocracy, my flag is not allowed but plenty others are. :( Water Donkey (talk) 07:37, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Greek Australians, you may be blocked from editing. See WP:HOAX. You've not responded to my above queries, you've not provided any verifiable evidence that this flag exists. —MelbourneStar☆talk 06:14, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- does it matter if the flag exists, what if i want to make a symbol for my community just like irish australian flag, scottish australian flag, and italian australian flag. Do you know what hoax means, it means misleading people. I never stated that i didnt make the flag, so its not a hoax. Water Donkey (talk) 07:30, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Its not vandilization, you are the vandal, removing my contributions! Please stop harassing me! Water Donkey (talk) 07:35, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- why do you care so much about this, it doesnt affect you in anyway, nor does it affect anyone else, it only is positive by making a symbol for us Water Donkey (talk) 07:44, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Greek Australians. —MelbourneStar☆talk 06:16, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- name the incorrect infomation. How is a flag incorrect infomation, if it is go bully italian australian flag, and all the others who make flags. Water Donkey (talk) 07:31, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- How the mods accepted this, Idk. Water Donkey (talk) 07:35, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
