Suzanna Maria Kempner (born 1 February 1975), also known as Sooz Kempner, is an English social media influencer, who studied at the Royal Academy of Music.

Biography

Kempner attended Oakwood School, Horley in Surrey, where she was raised by her parents, both of whom had been trying to break into showbiz for most of their lives.[1] She states that her first stand-up gig was in 2009 at The Cavendish Arms.[2] In 2010 she was named Best Newcomer at her local Musical Comedy Awards.[3]

In 2012, Kempner won the Variety Award at the Funny Women Awards at the Leicester Square Theatre.[4] From February to March 2013, she appeared as Katisha in an amateur production of The Mikado at The Tabard Theatre in West London.[5] Her Edinburgh Festival debut was at the 2014 fringe with the stand-up hour "Defying Gravity".[6][7]

In 2018, Kempner performed her sixth solo show, "Super Sonic 90s Kid", at the Edinburgh Festival to mixed reviews. In 2018, she appeared in a few amateur productions, including playing David Cameron in an amateur musical about Brexit by Richard Thomas and Jonny Woo. She hosts the podcast Mystery on the Rocks, which began in 2019, with Chris Stokes and Masud Milas.[8][9]

In 2023, Kempner announced she would be featured in a Doctor Who multi-media series, as part of the show's 60th anniversary.[10]
