Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Results of the 2020 Victorian local elections, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Walsh. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

any thoughts? JarrahTree 09:20, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure. The map was actually like that before I created the template. QLDer in NSW (talk) 06:14, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I've fixed it, there was an en dash in the name so the link to the map data was broken. --Canley (talk) 04:26, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that JarrahTree 06:29, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Map templates of regions of Western Australia nominated for deletion

Hi QLDer, I've nominated templates and categories you created a week ago at WP:TFD for being used on only singular pages each. You can comment in the discussion here. SWinxy (talk) 17:43, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Arbcom

Have you considered WP:RFPP? If your problematic interlocutors are typically unregistered editors, page protection may be a relatively simple solution. I haven't looked deeply into the issue (and am ignorant of Australian politics), but I predict your case request will be declined as premature. Best of luck, Folly Mox (talk) 04:35, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think ArbCom may be the best option. QLDer in NSW (talk) 04:37, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration case request

Hello QLDer in NSW. I'm a member of the Arbitration Committee. I wanted to reach out because I'm closing your arbitration case request, as arbitration is not required at this stage. Arbitration on Wikipedia is a lengthy, complicated process that involves the unilateral adjudication of a dispute by an elected committee. Although the Committee's decisions can be useful to certain disputes, in many cases the actual process of arbitration is unenjoyable and time-consuming. Moreover, for most disputes the community maintains an effective set of mechanisms for reaching a compromise or resolving a grievance.

In your case, your request appears to belong first at WP:RFPP, and if you have requests that go beyond the scope of that venue, then perhaps at WP:AN or WP:ANI. An arbitration case is an unpleasant process and unsuited to this issue. A case generally takes several months and hundreds of person-hours from parties and arbitrators and focuses on issues that the community is incapable of resolving. Please see {{Arb premature}} for more information from our standard message in these cases.

Thanks for letting me know. Sorry if my request wasted any time. QLDer in NSW (talk) 07:23, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indigenous Voice to Parliament

Hi QLDer in NSW. Thanks for your work on linking the 2023 Australian Indigenous Voice referendum to the 2023 New Zealand general election. You might be interested in a Guardian article about NZ evangelist and anti co-governance activist Julian Batchelor's arguments being co-opted by opponents of the Indigenous Voice in Australia. Hope this helps. Andykatib 04:41, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation moves

Hi there, I see that you moved Matt Flynn (Australian footballer) to Matt Flynn (Australian rules footballer). One of the guidelines for disambiguation is that it should be as concise as it needs to be to be unambiguous. Generally for Aussie rules players, we use (footballer), unless there is another footballer, then (Australian footballer) unless there is another Australian footballer (of any code, even rugby). In this case (Australian footballer) was appropriate. Many sports have their own guidelines or commonly used terms, which may not be documented, but I find browsing the relevant categories will show you what most other disambiguated pages are named. I won't move it back, but please don't move any more unless there is true ambiguity with the current name. The-Pope (talk) 14:12, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 AFL Grand Final

Hi, apologies I do not mean to be rude but so you know, Wikipedia is not a live-scores app. I know this because there have been cases where live scores have been reverted with explanations saying "we are an encyclopedia, not a live scores app". For the moment, I have removed the second quarter progressive scores, but feel free to update them at the end of each quarter. Thanks, Avatar5991 (talk) 05:42, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. It was a great game but I'm disappointed that Brisbane lost. :( QLDer in NSW (talk) 21:54, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
