This is to give everyone here a heads up that the Index of Singapore-related articles will be split in the near future as its current size is at 370KB. MOS guidelines recommends splitting at 400KB. I intend to arbitrarily split somewhere at the current half-way point of the 12000+ links, adjusting for the start/end of the first alphabet of that article. Do let me know if there's any other suggestions. The new titles would be: Index of Singapore-related articles: (0–<alphabet>) and Index of Singapore-related articles: <alphabet+1>–Z Unless there is similar explosive growth in new pages we saw between 2019 and 2020, net increase of 50KB, this split will likely last for at least the next five years. – robertsky (talk) 14:04, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone want to create a mini explosion growth again, here is a possible list of articles to create~! Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 04:17, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For the Special:RecentChangesLinked patrollers – is there a way to keep it to one tab? Else I guess I'll be bookmarking two links instead. ~ KN2731 {talk · contribs} 04:20, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At the moment, yes, two links. alternatively, a separate tool based on wikitech:Event Platform/EventStreams, but will take some time to code it out. – robertsky (talk) 09:32, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah that's beyond me atm... two links it is. ~ KN2731 {talk · contribs} 14:21, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article rewrites

For all those who are interested, I have been working on rewrites for certain articles in Marina Centre, namely for Marina Centre, Marina Square, and Millenia Singapore. The rewrites are currently in my sandbox, and feel free to help me expand them. R22-3877 (talk) 09:10, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

S. Iswaran & Ong Beng Seng assisting CPIB

After coming across Ridout Road rentals, I do think an article that goes into detail about the alleged corruption case surrounding S. Iswaran and Ong Beng Seng should also be created. In fact, S. Iswaran actually getting arrested makes it much more noteworthy. MordukhovichAleakin (talk) 17:51, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Credibility bot

As this is a highly active WikiProject, I would like to introduce you to Credibility bot. This is a bot that makes it easier to track source usage across articles through automated reports and alerts. We piloted this approach at Wikipedia:Vaccine safety and we want to offer it to any subject area or domain. We need your support to demonstrate demand for this toolkit. If you have a desire for this functionality, or would like to leave other feedback, please endorse the tool or comment at WP:CREDBOT. Thanks! Harej (talk) 17:50, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On the assumption that the bot scanned through all the tagged WikiprojectSG articles and reports all the sources used, I think this will be a good tool to clean up articles using dubious / poor sources in articles. Hopefully when cleaning up the sources, editors can find better sources for the articles and subsequently improved on it.
I am tentatively giving my support on this. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 05:08, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The mandate for the ESEAP Hub Interim Committee was not extended. After a discussion during the ESEAP Strategy Summit at Wikimania, the seating arrangement for the Preparatory Council has been extended to include community and individual contributors on top of the original affiliate seatings. The council will determine the operational procedures and processes among other administrative matters for the Hub when it officially launches.

For more information see ESEAP Preparatory Council/Process.

Nominations has to be turned in by 19 August 2023. As this is a short notice, I seek your understanding to participate without delay at meta:Talk:Wikimedians_of_Singapore_User_Group#ESEAP_Preparatory_Council_nomination. – robertsky (talk) 08:15, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's 5th Edit-a-thon

Hello WikiProject Singapore:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2023!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2023, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!

Article for 2023 $2.8 billion money laundering case

Either I can't find it, or Wikipedia doesn't have an article on the S$2.8 billion money laundering case in Singapore uncovered in 2023. Given it's notability (mentioned often in the local media and possibly globally as well), Wikipedia should definitely cover it. Mount2010 (talk) 06:22, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
