Compatibility with CleanupWorklistBot

Recently I found out that because this template doesn't somehow hook into mw:Extension:PageAssessments, the Cleanup list generated by the subject bot for all the projects included in WP:US won't display the importance and class of each article in the weekly-produced listings. Has this ever been looked into? Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 08:06, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved
The WP US template indeed does save data to PageAssessments, and now the CleanupWorklistBot has the capability to access it. I'll explain further in WP US talk. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 19:59, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP Nevada

Can we add Nevada to this template? The template:WikiProject Nevada doesn't work anymore. --Funandtrvl (talk) 17:11, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's been inactivated. Is the WikiProject active again? If so, the banner may also be reacivted; if not, there's no point adding it to WPUSA. --Redrose64 🦌 (talk) 18:08, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm concerned that did all the Las Vegas and Nevada articles get re-tagged by the WPUSA template? --Funandtrvl (talk) 18:15, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't have thought so, and indeed Talk:Caesars Palace hasn't been. --Redrose64 🦌 (talk) 18:38, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, how would we tag the article talk pages that were from WP Nevada? Or, should we add it as a wrapper template to WPUSA? I'm not sure how to tag them, would I use AWB? I know how to do the wrapper template, both I don't know which way would be best. --Funandtrvl (talk) 18:44, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just tag them in the normal way, see Talk:Caesars Palace as an example. --Redrose64 🦌 (talk) 18:52, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The link to "Unreferenced BLPs" in the WP US template goes to a historical page of no current use to WikiProjects. In fact, that effort has been dead for over a decade. Could this link please be removed? I just realized this today after I started color-coding links to historical pages. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 05:06, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question about image-in# / map-in# parameters

Although the template documentation includes |image-in2=/|image-in3=/|map-in2=/|map-in3= parameters, they don't seem to be included in the template code. Pages that use the template with these parameters are included in Category:Pages using WikiProject United States with unknown parameters. Should the template code be updated to support the parameters, or should the documentation be updated to remove these unsupported parameters? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 19:19, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like they were removed due to lack of use at this revision. The template documentation needs to be updated. --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:05, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Funandtrvl: Documentation updated, and category emptied. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 19:23, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
as always, thanks for the help!! --Funandtrvl (talk) 00:23, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Substituted templates

When this template is substituted, from e.g. Template:WikiProject Kentucky, it includes blank parameters for category and class. Wouldn't be it better if it didn't include them by default? The category parameter should be rarely needed, and the class parameter ideally isn't needed going forward either given WP:PIQA. -Kj cheetham (talk) 21:22, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Kj cheetham: That's a modifiaction that you need to make to Template:WikiProject Kentucky, not this one. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:25, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Ah yes of course, my mistake. In that case to implement what I was originally thinking would mean changing a lot of wrapper templates, and I suspect the hassle isn't worth the benefit, so I'll leave it. -Kj cheetham (talk) 13:42, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edit request for WP Louisville

I'm the maintainer for the subject project and for overall project cleanup purposes have recently revised our project icon to use File:Fleur-de-lis-3d-2.png instead of File:Fleur-de-lis-3d.png. Could a template editor please make this change in the WP US? Not a high priority. Thanks. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 09:26, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
