Tracker is an American action drama television series created by Ben H. Winters based on The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver.[1][2] Winters and Hilary Weisman Graham serve as showrunners.[3] The series stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw and is joined by principal cast members Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene, and Mary McDonnell. Tracker premiered on February 11, 2024, following Super Bowl LVIII on CBS.[4] The series is also produced by 20th Television.

Production

Development

Tracker is produced by 20th Television and based on Jeffery Deaver's The Never Game.[11] The series was picked up to pilot by CBS in July 2022.[1] In December 2022, it was given a straight-to-series order.[2] In March 2023, the title of the series was changed to Tracker.[12]

Casting

In January 2021, Justin Hartley joined the series as Colter Shaw.[11] In September 2022, Mary McDonnell was cast as Mary Dove Shaw.[6] That month, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, and Eric Graise had also joined the series.[5]

Broadcast

Tracker premiered on February 11, 2024, on CBS in the United States (except in Kansas City due to Super Bowl postgame victory coverage, the show was moved to KSMO that night and aired on KCTV the following Thursday), following Super Bowl LVIII.[4] In Canada, the series aired in simulcast on CTV.[13]

Reception

The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an 83% approval rating with an average rating of 6.6/10, based on 6 critic reviews.[14] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 67 out of 100 based on 6 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[15]
