The presidential election in Russia will be held sometime on March 2030. This will be the ninth presidential election in the country. If no candidate receives more than half the vote, a second round will take place exactly three weeks later. The winner is scheduled to be inaugurated on 7 May 2030.

Eligibility

According to the Constitution of Russia, presidential candidates must:[1]

  • Be at least 35 years old ;
  • Be resident in Russia for at least 25 years ;
  • Not have foreign citizenship or residence permit in a foreign country, neither at the time of the election nor at any time before ;

The Constitusion does not allow the same person hold the position of President of Russia for more than two terms overall.
