Year of Birth

Why is his year of birth listed as 1897 here? Vertically every other source lists 1895. 174.91.88.8 (talk) 02:39, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is very clearly explained in the note, which says:

The year of birth has been reported as 1895, 1896, 1897, and 1898 in different sources. The 1895 date was perpetuated by sources copying from earlier incorrect sources. His birth certificate and World War I draft card both use "October 2, 1897".

His birth certificate also lists Asbury Park, NJ. Plummer (talk)
