Freddie Mercury did not sing on any Andrew Gold song ever, and they never met.

There is a persistent myth that Freddie Mercury sang back up on the Andrew Gold song "Never Let Her Slip Away". This is a total myth. All of the pages who reference it all reference back to each other, i.e., it's a circular reference with no origin, like "you say I said it and I say you said it". I read an interview by the producer of the album, Brock Walsh, which you can Google yourself and he said he also heard the myth and it's not true. Being the producer, he would know whether this happened or not. He said that neither he nor Andrew had ever met Freddie Mercury. I have even contacted people associated with Gold's official website to acknowledge Walsh's statement and they refuse to acknowledge it because, in my opinion, it brings a lot of notoriety to Andrew Gold by being affiliated with Freddie Mercury even if it didn't happen, and that gets more hits on his website.
