I'll take a look at this over the next few days. --Ykraps (talk) 18:48, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- Earwig reports copyvio unlikely [[1]]
- I removed a few duplicate links. Those remaining are repeated from the lede, which is acceptable.
- Images appear to be appropriately licensed.
As he died at such a young age, it’s probably best to add cause of death to the lede.
- Done, in a generic way. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 22:59, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- That's really all that was needed. --Ykraps (talk) 05:27, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Do we know the content of his grandfather’s testimony to the Royal Commission?
- Not in the sources used at present. At some stage before taking this to Milhist ACR or FAC I will check the report of the Royal Commission at the state library. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 22:59, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- I think even for FAC, you don't need anymore than just the topic.--Ykraps (talk) 05:27, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

... first Aboriginal woman from South Australia – As south is capitalised, this refers to the state presumably? Does it need a link, do you think?

...he put his age up by two years from 20 to 22 years of age – Doesn’t need years of age at the end
Nazi Germany probably needs a link but this will cause a WP:Sea of blue. Also, overran France, Belgium and the Netherlands is a bit WP:Easter eggy. To solve both problems, you could write - In May and June, Nazi Germany overran France, Belgium and the Netherlands during the Battle of France, and the decision was taken...
- I find the whole "Battle of France" titling thing rather POV. It was the invasion of France and the Low Countries. I've tweaked it a little though to put an island in the sea. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- ...the Salisbury Plain – Definite article not required and in fact, very unusual.
- Really? I spent a bit of time there with the British Army and it was de rigueur to call it "the Salisbury Plain". Just "deployed on Salisbury Plain" seems very odd grammar to me. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
The 18th Brigade was preparing to deploy to Greece as part of the Allied deployment to assist the Greeks against an expected Axis invasion when German advances in Cyrenaica resulted in the its deployment to the Libyan port of Tobruk as part of the garrison, the famous “Rats of Tobruk” - I found quite a long sentence. Can we break it up a bit? at least in two.
- Sure, done. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
Is Battle of Salient the name of the battle as used in sources?
Ah, found it. Pipelink to to Siege of Tobruk#Battle of the Salient
- Do we know why Hughes had a stay in hospital in mid-December?
- Yes, he was circumcised, but it is only in primary sources. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- May be say "...for a routine operation"? No biggie though. --Ykraps (talk) 07:42, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Is the disused Buna airstrip the same as Buna Airfield?
- It isn't clear. The one the 2/10th fought over was called the Old Strip, as the Japanese had been building a new one, aptly called New Strip. I'm just not sure which one the linked article is about. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- Probably best to leave unlinked then. --Ykraps (talk) 07:42, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Hughes, who was a strict Methodist, held services at their home – There’s probably nothing wrong with it but the mix of singular and plural here sounds wrong to my ears. What about, held services at the family home?

What is the Lands Department? Can we have a single sentence explanation or footnote?
@Peacemaker67: that's all Ive got for now. --Ykraps (talk) 18:15, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

- Ykraps, I've done what I can at this stage with the missed points. I don't want to add material from a primary source at this stage, I might later on. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 23:01, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- That's great. The Salisbury Plain still sounds odd to me but I consider that a triviality and certainly not worth holding up this article's promotion. Well done! --Ykraps (talk) 05:27, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

- Approving both hooks. Article is long enough and promoted to GA same day as DYK nomination. Article is presentable, well-sourced, and copyvio-free. Hooks are interesting and sourced; although 2nd source is not accessible, it is acceptable on good faith. Image meets criteria, QPQ done. Good to go, thank you for your nomination Peacemaker67!
