An EMD SW9 is a diesel switcher locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between October 1949 and January 1951. Power was provided by an [[EMD 567A 12-cylinder engine, producing 1200 horsepower.

493 examples of this model were built for American railroads.
