The Bolshoy Irgiz (Russian: Большой Ирги́з, literally Great Irgiz) or Irgiz (Russian: Ирги́з) is a river in Samara and Saratov Oblast, Russia, the left tributary oof the Volga. It is 675 km long, is't drainage basin is 24,000 sq km. It origins at the Obshchy Syrt. Irgiz's meandering riverbed pass the steppes. The river has snow feeding. The town of Pugachyov and the village of Pestravka stay on the Irgiz. It flows to the Volgograd Reservoir, Volga, just below Balakovo.
