The Thai Airways International Sprint is a Group 2 Australian thoroughbred horse race held under open handicap conditions, for horses aged 3 years old and upwards, over a distance of 1100m. It is held at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne.


Race History

1983 onwards held over 1100m.

1983 – 1992 was a Listed Race
1993 – 1998 was a Group 3
1999 onwards Group 2.

1983 - 1984 the race was known as the ‘Racing Museum Sprint’
1985 the race was known as the ‘Brylcream Sprint’
1986 the race was known as the ‘National Sprint Championship’
1987 - 1988 the race was known as the ‘Caulfield Sprint’
1989 - 1991 the race was known as the ‘Caulfield Sprint’
1992 the race was known as the ‘Jupiter’s Casino Sprint’
1993 the race was known as the ‘Conrad Jupiter’s Sprint’
1994 the race reverted back to the ‘Caulfield Sprint’
1995 - 1999 the race was known as the ‘Schillaci Stakes’
2000- 2001 the race was known as the ‘Mercedes-Benz Sprint’
2002 the race was known as the ‘National Telecoms Group Sprint’
2003-2005 the race was called the ‘Dodo Internet Sprint’.
2006 onwards the race has been known as the 'Thai Airways International Sprint'.
