The Great War of 1892

The Great War of 1892 was a story written by Admiral Philip H. Colomb in which he sought to alert Britain to what he saw as the weakness the Royal Navy. It was published in the Black and White magazine, a weekly publication which focussed on the exploits of the imperial exploit's of Britain's Army and Navy. It was a collaboration between Colomb and several experienced journalists and had been prompted by the success of The Battle of Dorking. Its success led directly to the commisioning of George Griffith's futuristic fantasy 'The Angel of the Revolution'.
