Mark Evans Austad served under the Ford administration as U. S. Ambassador to Finland and under the Reagan administration as U. S. Ambassador to Norway.

Austad was born in Ogden, Utah. He served a mission to Finland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. prior to his service as an ambassador he was in braodcasting. He started with KSL in Salt Lake City and latter became connected with CBS in Washington.[1]
