Giovanni Cardinal Urbani (26 March1900 - 17 September1969) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and the Patriarch of Venice from 1958 until his death.

Born in Venice, Italy in 1900, Urbani was ordained a priest in 1922 and ordained an auxiliary bishop of Venice in 1946.

Urbani was appointed Patriarch of Venice on 11 November 1958 by his predecessor Angelo Giuseppe Cardinal Roncalli due to the vacancy caused by Roncalli's election as Pope John XXIII the previous month. He was elevated to Cardinal by Pope John XXIII in the consistory of 15 December 1958. His title was Cardinal-Priest of S. Prisca, and was later changed to Cardinal-Priest of S. Marco in March 1962 upon the vacancy caused by the death of Elia Cardinal Dalla Costa in December 1961.

Cardinal Urbani was a participant in the Second Vatican Council from 1962 until its close in 1965. He also participated in the 1963 Papal conclave that elected Pope Paul VI.

Giovanni Cardinal Urbani died in Venice on 17 September1969. His position as Patriarch of Venice was unique in the fact that both his predecessor and his successor became Pope. His successor as Patriarch was Albino Cardinal Luciani, the man who would become Pope John Paul I in 1978.
