Lisa Wilkinson
Lisa Wilkinson (born 19 December 1959) is an Australian television personality. She is the co-host of Today on the Nine Network with Karl Stefanovic.
Career
Wilkinson began her career at a young age, working for Dolly Magazine. At age 21, she became the youngest ever editor of the magazine.[1] After four years and almost tripling circulation she was then appointed Editor of Cleo Magazine and went on to become International Editor-in-Chief.
Her television career began in the late 1990's, when she was a regular panelist on Network Ten and Foxtel's Beauty and the Beast. During the 2000 Summer Olympics, she (along with Duncan Armstrong) co-hosted The Morning Shift on the Seven Network.
In 2005, she began hosting Weekend Sunrise.
On Sunday, 6 May 2007, it was revealed Wilkinson was in talks with Nine Network on hosting Today after Jessica Rowe left the network.
On 10 May 2007, it was confirmed that Wilkinson was to co-anchor the Today show. Her last appearance on Weekend Sunrise was Sunday 6 May 2007 which was her last time on the Seven Network. Samantha Armytage replaced Wilkinson on Weekend Sunrise. She initiated her hosting duties on Today as of 28 May 2007.[2].
Personal life
Wilkinson is a former student of Campbelltown High School (now Campbelltown High School of the Performing Arts).[1] She married media personality Peter FitzSimons in September 1992 and has three young children - Jake, Louis and Billi.
