The Miami Heat (or the Miami HEAT as the name is officially rendered) are a National Basketball Association team based in Miami, Florida, USA.
Franchise history
The Miami Heat acquired Shaquille O'Neal via trade with the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2004. The Heat made it to the Eastern Conference Finals where they lost in seven games to the Detroit Pistons. The Miami Heat aquired Jason Williams and James Posey via trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for Eddie Jones and Antoine Walker from the Boston Celtics. Some sportswriters, such as Stephen A. Smith say that the Heat will win a championship by becoming more talented. Others, such as Marc Stein say that Walker and Williams both "want the ball".
