The Robber Bridegroom is a novel by Eudora Welty published in 1941.

The story is a Southern fairy tale, set in Mississippi. The legendary Mike Fink meets Welty's bandit Jamie Lockhart, and Lockhart comes out on top. Then he rides off with a young girl Rosamond, saving her from an evil stepmother.

The novel utilizes the Cupid and Psyche myth. Conventional elements are used generously in this unconventional story.

The book was adapted into a Broadway musical that appeared in 1975.
