Vivian Paley is a noted child psychologist and early childhood education researcher. Now retired, she taught and did most of her research at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. She was the recipient of a MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellowship and is the author of "The Boy Who Would Be A Helicopter" and "You Can't Say You Can't Play."
