Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley is a fictional character in the Australian crime/drama series City Homicide. She is portrayed by Noni Hazlehurst.

Bernice first appeared in the debut episode of City Homicide and has appeared in every episode so far.

Not much of Bernice's personal life has been shown so far, except that she has been a cop since she was 18 years old and that she has been in the force for over 30 years. It has also been shown that she has a teenage son, Josh. She also appears to be friends with Detective Senior Sergeant Stanley Wolfe and Assistant Commissioner Bill Mulholland.

In every episode when Bernice has a clipboard or folder, there is always a PDA clipped to it.
