B-side"She's Got the Devil in Her Eyes"

"Blood and Honey" - a single by French singer Amanda Lear released in 1976 by Ariola Records.

Song information

"Blood and Honey" was released as a single in December 1976 and later was included on Amanda's debut album I Am a Photograph. It was written by Amanda Lear herself (lyrics) and Anthony Monn (music), with whom she co-operated for the following five years. The song lyrics were inspired by Salvador Dalí's painting Honey is Sweeter than Blood (La miel es más dulce que la sangre). It became Amanda Lear's first notable hit and one of her most popular songs ever.

The B-side of the 7" single was "She's Got the Devil in Her Eyes", de facto an instrumental version of "Blood and Honey". On the 12" version of the single, released in the United Kingdom and Canada, an extended, 9-minute-long version of "Blood and Honey" was included.[1]

In 1998 the song was remixed and released on a single to promote the compilation Amanda '98 - Follow Me Back in My Arms.

Music video

Amanda Lear shot a music video for "Blood and Honey" for German TV show Musikladen. It pictures the singer performing the title song in front of the camera. Two backup dancers accompany her, with their faces painted white.
