Located in Eastern Louisiana, Crooks mound is a burial mound that was part of at least six episodes of burials. The dead bodies that are found here are placed however they are able to fit, and sometimes body parts are missing in order to achieve that goal. Some believe that there was a holding house for this area that was emptied periodically in order to acheive this type of set up.

Most of the time, the people were just placed into the mound, but a few of the burials were in log-lined tombs, or even stone tombs. Only a few out of each burial were given copper tools and other items to help in the after life. This suggest that the area was mainly for common people to be buried in.
