Aloha everyone, one legal threat was one too many for me. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 08:36, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Grmbl. You of course know that it was a completely groundless threat? That the user was just pissed, and doesn't understand Wikipedia?
Of course, if it stresses you too much then I can understand this step, and wish you a happy break. :)
    Cheers, Amalthea 08:54, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Woah, did not expect this when coming on today, that's downright disappointing. Amalthea has said as good as I feel regarding this threat and I feel you shouldn't be taking an extended break because of some jerk's threat of legal action should you not jump through their hoops without them even attempting to acknowledge ours first. Even with that though, if you need to take a break then you should do and I hope you'll come back. treelo radda 10:10, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not only is the threat groundless, but there is no real legal issue that would serve as the basis of legal action. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.155.211.61 (talk) 11:59, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would hope you would reconsider. That user can not sue you. You did nothing wrong and everything right in that situation. I hope you will come back to Wikipedia soon. - NeutralHomerTalk23:29, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you everyone. Feeling much better now, and I do plan to return to editing, however sporadically. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 21:42, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's nice to hear. :) Amalthea 21:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. Thank you as always for your help and concern! 青い(Aoi) (talk) 21:51, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

fetch

I think JimConroy38 (talk) is teeling the truth. Just look at his edits they are very spred apart. also he has only edited fetch and one think of Barney. also he knows who one season 5 already. you can tell though he only edits at night.Extremeguy (talk) 11:57, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"He knows who one [sic] season 5 already?" Did he actually say who it was? Because if he did, that would be a major spoiler and would lead me, actually, to seriously question the legitimacy of the account. In any case, he has now been requested directly to verify his identity and must follow the process. Agent0042 (talk) 19:18, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
yes he did Marco was the grand champion. It is stated on his user pageExtremeguy (talk) 19:35, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The grammar on that userpage is atrocious-- I refuse to believe that this person is really Jim Conroy. Nor do I believe that anyone legitimately affiliated with the program would spoil the winner of any season of the show. Agent0042 (talk) 04:56, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Extremeguy: If JimConroy38 is going to claim that he is indeed the real Jim Conroy, while simultaneously editing articles which he has a direct conflict of interest in (Ruff Ruffman), this could be problematic. This is why I asked him to prove he is who he says he is. It does not matter whether you think he is who he says he is; the only thing that matters is the truth. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 16:55, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

a couple of weeks ago I asked him this are you the real person that is does the voice of Ruff. can you please tell me if you are. please be honest. thanks Extremeguy (talk) 18:24, 1 September 2009 (UTC) and he respond with, Yeah that's me I am the Voice of Ruff Ruffman is there anything I can help you guys with or do you have any questions you want to ask me. --JimConroy38 (talk) 04:09, 2 September 2009 (UTC). so I don't know if this will helpExtremeguy (talk) 19:32, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, that does not help. Any person could register an account and claim to be someone they are not. You cannot prove that JimConroy38 is really who he says he is; only JimConroy38 can by following the procedures I left on his talk page. He needs to comply with Wikipedia policy. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 19:43, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I am going to ask Him a question that is realted to the show. here's what I did Okay let's give this a try. Question's

How to you produce the show fetch with ruff ruffman from start to finish? How do you Get a hold of Kate taylor or macy guther from the show? what kind of screen is used when you produce fetch? Do you travel with the contestants while doing the voice of Ruff or how is it done? How long does it take to Make one season from start to finish? please explain answers in detail Also I suggest that you make a twitter account or some other kind of account. So you you know Ruffman is already taken for a user name. Also you could update the production and Cast and crew section on the fetch page thanks please respond. if you can think of other questions let me knowExtremeguy (talk) 23:27, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is silly. The questions you are asking are not going to prove anything. If you ask me, you are going through all of this trouble for nothing. If this guy wants to prove that he is who he says he is, all he has to do is read the directions in the comment I left him on his talk page (via the directions on WP:REALNAME). So far, he has not made any effort to do so. I do not understand why you are going through all this trouble standing up for him. He needs to prove who he is on his own; there is absolutely nothing you can do to help him. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 23:57, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Under policy, how long does he have to actually prove his identity before some sort of action is taken? Agent0042 (talk) 04:19, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's no time limit as far as I know. Because the user is still editing other pages (Fetch articles, which he has a direct conflict of interest in, nonetheless) several days after I posted the notice to his page, we probably could take some action right now. I've been meaning to file a WP:RFCN, but I've been too busy this past week to really do much. Would you like to take the lead? Thanks, 青い(Aoi) (talk) 07:52, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

JimConroy38 RFCN

I just thought I'd let you know that I've opened a discussion at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names#JimConroy38 --AussieLegend (talk) 00:58, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

question

in this edit http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=FETCH!_with_Ruff_Ruffman&diff=314976288&oldid=314975921. I can,t give you an excat source. if you go to tv.com i think the forman is called fetch news it gives when season 4 wrapped and it is about know. so when do you think it is a good time to change it? I was going to wait intill the end of 2009 to change it but they really don't shoot at that time and are getting ready for there next season.Fetchfan88 (talk) 11:34, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for File:BackstreetBoys_Incomplete_video2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:BackstreetBoys_Incomplete_video2.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PhilKnight (talk) 10:08, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aoi only reverted the image, and didn't upload it. All prior versions have merely been deleted. Amalthea 10:20, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining - I've notified Aranherunar. PhilKnight (talk) 13:19, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
