Pacific Abyss is a three-part series on British television's (BBC1), in August 2008.

It is hosted by Kate Humble, Mike Smart and Mike deGruy.

A variety of high-tech equipment, including ROVs and a Newt Suit, allowed for extremely deep dives, up to 800 feet.

The series started filming in April/May 2007.

27 people took part in the expedition, including Jo Ruxdon who described the whole series as "something new" in that people have never been able to dive to such depths in such remote places. Several new species were discovered.

The first episode aired on Sunday 17 Aug 2008 at 8:00 pm.

The programme starts airing on ATV World in Hong Kong starting June 8,2008
