Poomala is a village in Thrissur district of Kerala, south India. It is one of the popular tourist hill stations in India and you can see Muniarra (a cave where a saint once meditated). Poomala is 16 km from Thrissur town. There is a small dam in Poomala (in the southern part) for irrigation. In its northern side another bigger dam at Pathazhakundu serves the same purpose. From the top of the hill one can get the view of Thrissur town.
