Nubarashen (Armenian: Նուբարաշեն, also Romanized as Nuparashen; formerly, Sovetashen) is a district of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It is situated southeast of the city centre.

History

In 1930, by the support and sponsorship of the founder and president of the AGBU Egyptian-Armenian benefactor Boghos Nubar was decided to build a town with name Nubarashen (meaning “village of Nubar”). Architect Alexander Tamanian made the plan of Nubarashen. In 1932, Nubarashen was established. In following years it became home from many repatriated Armenians from Greece, Bulgaria, France, Lebanon, Syria, etc.
