Dr.Jeppiaar is an educationalist. He founded Sathyabama college in 1984. He is the first one to introduce strict guidelines to maintain discipline among professional college students. You can't find a boy speaking with a girl neither in the campus nor in the college bus. Students have to wear ID card when they are in the campus. Students without ID card were not permitted to enter class rooms/lunch hall. College bus is the only source of option for students and staff to commute. Students and staff will be served lunch in the lunch hall within the campus. Lunch hall is capable of serving 1000 students at a time. Students are not entitled to bring in their own lunch. A strict formal dress policy is adopted till date.

Dr. Jeppiar defends these laws as the life line to bring in rich and poor under a same roof. Meanwhile he believes by keeping boys and girls off communication may help them to concentrate better on studies.

Unique Features of Sathyabama University

In Sathyabama University and other educational institutions associated with it, a lot of importance is given to 'human value education' apart from the regular syllabus. In a famous promotional video, the founder Jeppiar said "syllabus only degree. But a human value education there is no degiree. But future life is a very peaceful life", stressing the importance of human value education. It is introduced to students through 'smart and neat dress, smart walking, smile'. For this and many other reasons, Sathyabama is famously called 'Education Temple'.
