Mr. & Mrs. is a television show that originated in Canada in 1963, debuting in Britain shortly afterwards. The Canadian version was produced at CFTO-TV in Toronto and ran on the CTV network for 780 episodes, and was hosted by Roy Ward Dickson, who was also the show's creator.[1] The show tested couples' knowledge of one another.

In the United Kingdom, it was hosted by Alan Taylor and Derek Batey in Britain, for a time, in two separate versions shown on the ITV network with the Alan Taylor version being produced by HTV and the Derek Batey version produced by Border Television.

The format was briefly revived in the UK during 1999, presented by Julian Clary. Celador International (now 2waytraffic) has recently licensed the rights to update the format for a 21st century audience.

It was confirmed in December 2007 that a revived version of the show would air on ITV from Spring 2008, presented by Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton. The new series features celebrities and their real-life partners playing to win money for their chosen charity. A Christmas special aired in December 2008 with a second series of nine shows following in Spring/Summer 2009. The show also airs on TV3 Ireland.

Note: Episode 10 was originally due to air as the final episode of the second series on 4 July 2009. However, the death of pop legend Michael Jackson prevented the episode's broadcast, as his brother, Tito Jackson was seen laughing about him. The episode was pulled as it seemed too insensitive to air it so soon after his death.[2]
