Summerbeatz is a 2010 concert tour held in Australia featuring Flo Rida, Jay Sean, Akon, Ciara, Ja Rule and Travie McCoy with special guests Stan Walker, Giulietta (singer) (who won the support act slot through a competition) and DJ Nino Brown.[1]

Background

Following on from the success of the two urban events in early 2010, the Winterbeatz and Supafest. Paperchase Touring and Visa Entertainment along with JIVE are thrilled to announce Summerbeatz 2010. The tour is proudly sponsored by Paperchase Touring, Supré, MTV Australia, Video Hits[disambiguation needed], Hot 30 Countdown, Visa Entertainment, Drum Media, Moves Travel and Planet Urban.[2] The Visa Entertainment pre-sale tickets went on sale on 22 September 2010 to 27 September. Online ticket sales at Ticketek were on sale on 28 September to 29 September and the general public tickets on 30 September 2010.[1]

The original line up of acts touring for Summerbeatz include Flo Rida, Jay Sean, Soulja Boy, Travie McCoy, Stan Walker and DJ Nino Brown. However Soulja Boy had later decided to pull out of the tour and was replaced by Ja Rule.[3] In October 2010 it was announced that Ciara and Akon would be joining the line up of acts.[4] However Akon will not be touring in Melbourne. Promoter Dwayne Cross released a statement saying "It's with great regret that we announce that Akon will not be performing in Melbourne on the Summerbeatz 2010 Tour. This is due to restrictions put on us by the Melbourne venue Rod Laver Arena."[4] Jay Sean did not make an appearance at the Brisbane and Sydney shows due to a death in his family.[5]
