1964 Washington gubernatorial election

The Washington gubernatorial race of 1964 took place between incumbent governor Albert D. Rosellini and Republican Party choice Daniel J. Evans.
Rosellini, had been in office for 2 terms, and had not been overly popular with the public, especially recently.
After nominating Daniel Evans, the republicans hoped for a victory, since it had been 12 years since one of their own won an election.
In the end, Evans won 697,256 votes and 55.77% of the vote, to the incumbent governor's 548,692 votes and 43.89%.
