Pat & Oscar's, formerly known as "Oscar's", is a restaurant chain with about 20 locations in California. [1] The first location was opened in 1991. [2]
History
In 2000 - Sizzler bought 82% stake of the "Oscar's" chain.[3]
In 2001 - The restaurant was renamed from "Oscar's" to "Pat & Oscars" to avoid trademark conflicts during expansion.[4] Public marketing suggested that the reason was to give credit to Pat who also contributed to the business.[citation needed]
In 2008 - The management team of Pat & Oscars bought out the company.[5]
In 2011, the company filed for bankruptcy.[6] In May 2012, after most of the restaurants closed, the remaining franchisees merged under a new brand, "O's American Kitchen" with 11 locations.[7]
