2006 State of Origin series

The 2006 State of Origin Rugby Leauge series is a three match series between the Queensland Maroons and the NSW Blues. The first match of the series was played at Telsta Stadium, Sydney in front of a crowd of 72,000. New South Wales took the match 17-16 after leading 14-0 at half-time. Queensland were back in the match at 16-all with just minutes remaining before a Brett Finch field goal won the game for New South Wales. The next two games will be played at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane and the MCG, Melbourne.
