José Emmanuel Crescimbeni Barrantes (born June 25, 1990 in Gaithersburg, Maryland) is an American swimmer of Peruvian origin, who specialized in butterfly events.[1] He is a single-time Olympian (2008), and currently holds Peruvian records in the 100 and 200 m butterfly. While residing in the United States, Crescimbeni is a 2007 Florida High School state champion, and a member of the Florida Gators swimming and diving team under head coach Gregg Troy.[2]

Crescimbeni represented his parents' homeland Peru at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed in the men's 200 m butterfly. He posted a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:01.09 from the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil a year earlier.[3] He participated in heat one against three other swimmers Nikša Roki of Croatia, Rehan Poncha of India, and Javier Hernández Maradiaga of Honduras. He raced to third place in a time of 2:02.13, edging out Hernandez by a tenth of a second (0.10). Crescimbeni failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed forty-first overall in the prelims.[4]
