Curse Inc. is an online game portal and network of sites founded by Hubert Thieblot in 2006. It is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with offices in San Francisco, New York City, Brighton, UK, Berlin, Germany, and claims to be the "number one resource for core online gamers." [2][3] The website distributes add-ons and modifications for games such as World of Warcraft, Rift, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Terraria, and Minecraft. The organization also sponsors two professional teams for League of Legends. Curse Inc. also hosts the Dota 2 Wiki, Minecraft Wiki, and DayZ Wiki.

Network

Curse owns multiple gaming websites, including MMO-Champion,[4] Arena Junkies,[5] Gamepedia,[6] Reign of Gaming,[7] LoL Pro,[8] Minecraft Forums,[9] Minecraft.fr,[10] Guild Wars 2 Guru,[11] and FPS General.[12]

Videos

Curse produces several regular shows on their YouTube channel,[13] including the Curse Weekly Roundup, the Minecraft Update, the WoW Weekly Recap, the League Update, and the Pokemon Update. These shows are currently hosted by Jess Brohard.[14] Curse also provides on-site coverage of game industry events such as the Penny Arcade Expo, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, San Diego Comic Con, MineCon, and the EVE Online Fanfest.

They previously livestreamed regular content on their Own3D channel[15] until Own3D ceased operations as a company on January 31, 2013.

Growth and Recognition

Thieblot has stated that his company makes money from advertising and premium reviews.[16] Inc 500 ranked Curse Inc. as the 405th fastest growing company in the United States in 2011, and the San Francisco Business Times ranked it as 22nd on their 2011 list of "Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the San Francisco Bay Area".[17][18][19] In April 2012, Ernst & Young named Hubert Thieblot, Curse’s CEO, as a semifinalist in their "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program" for Northern California.[20] According to Quantcast, by June 2012, Curse's monthly worldwide traffic had exceeded 21 million unique visitors.[21]

On June 26, 2013, Curse announced in a press conference it will relocate their headquarters to Huntsville.[1]
