The Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) is an official or semi-official organization for Chinese international students and scholars in most colleges, universities, and institutions out of China. CSSA is responsible for helping the away-home Chinese in their life, study, work, and other issues. CSSA is also serving as a bridge between the Chinese and other communities, broadcasting the Chinese culture.

Example: CSSA at University of Pittsburgh. Website: CSSA at University of Pittsburgh. Mission: "Chinese Students & Scholars Association (CSSA) at the University of Pittsburgh! We are dedicated to serve the interest and benefit of all Chinese students, scholars and other CSSA members in the University community." There is a standing committee to serve as the organizer and about 700 registered members in this organization. Spring festival is the biggest event every year held by Pitt CSSA.
