Shekhawati University, (Hindi: शेखावाटी विश्वविद्यालय) is a Public university in Sikar, Rajasthan. Shekhawati University has been established in August 2012 by Universities Act, 2012. The University was allotted 30 Acres of land in the beginning to start with on Katrathal, Jhunjhunu Road. Initially University will start Post-graduation courses in the faculty of Social Sciences from the academic session 2014-2015 to cater the need of students in Sikar and nearby districts.
History
Shekhawati University was established in 2012 by Universities Act, 2012. It was named on Shekhawati region,which consist Sikar, Churu and Jhunjhunu districts.
The objective of the founders was to make the university a premier institution of higher learning and to promote research and teaching leading to the increasing engagement of its students and teachers in higher level academic work and provide a platform for the students of Shekhawati region.
