Chauncey Abbott was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography

Abbott was born on September 16, 1815.[1] He died on January 30, 1872 and is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery.[2]

Career

In addition to being a member of the Assembly, Abbott was President, now Mayor, of Madison, Wisconsin from 1852 to 1853 and Postmaster of Madison from 1850 to 1853. He was also District Attorney of Dane County, Wisconsin.
