GT Smith was a small supermarket chain based in Knottingly near Pontefract, in West Yorkshire (England). The main branch was located on 'Marine Villa Road' in Knottingly, with other branches noted in nearby Pontefract and Castleford. GT Smith's was famous for fresh provisions, with superb quality bakery and deli items made daily instore. Sadly, GT Smith sold out to Wm Morrison Supermarkets, after which the Marine Villa Road store was demolished and a Morrisons erected.
