Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (born 1991), commonly known by his stage name Kygo, is a Norwegian musician and remixer. He is best known for his remix of the track "I See Fire", which has been played 6 million times on Soundcloud and roughly 18 million times on YouTube and attracted a total of 40 million hits. [1] He has accumulated over 80 million views on his music on Soundcloud and YouTube. After a break-through in 2014, Kygo was head-hunted by Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin to create a remix for the song "Midnight" [2] [3]

Music career

Kygo started to learn to play the piano at age six through lessons.[4] He decided to have a go at remixes and creating electronic music after discovering Avicii at age 15-16. After receiving over 80 million hits on YouTube and Soundcloud, Kygo was contacted by both Avicii and Chris Martin of Coldplay to create official remixes of one the artists' songs. He is also set to warm-up for Avicii when he plays in Norway in 2014.[5]

Kygo is also set to play various events in North America, and some of the shows have already been sold out. He also got a feature interview in the official Billboard magazine, where he talked about his remixes for Diplo and Coldplay, and talked about his upcoming tour in North America.[6]

His remix of "I See Fire" entered Romania's Top 40 and has remained there for 14 weeks, peaking at Number 2 as of June 3rd, 2014. [7]
