Floating point page

The page floating point needs expert attention, and such experts are extremely rare. Based on your past contributions in this or related fields, I wonder if you could take a look. William Ackerman 22:05, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

In your 21:41, 19 October 2006 revision to the article on floating point, you added (along with some interesting historical information) this statement: The PDP-11/44 was an extension of the 11/34 that included the cache memory and floating point units as a standard feature. This was hardly a historic milestone in floating point history; IBM mainframes included floating point units for at least a decade before the 11/44 was introduced.

So I am deleting that reference. If you put it back, could you please add something that says why the 11/44 factoid is important? Evaluist (talk) 22:33, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Oregon

Hi Jake, I spotted your edits to the Laurelhurst, Portland, Oregon article, and it looks like nobody has gotten around to inviting you to join WikiProject Oregon! Let me correct that oversight. There's a pretty good community of people in Oregon working on Wikipedia. There aren't really active, formal projects these days, but it's a great resource for coordinating with people with overlapping editing interests. Sometimes spontaneous efforts to update local articles spring up, other times it's useful to have a place to find somebody who knows the lay of the land, or an administrator, or somebody who knows how to make a template, etc. Hope you will check it out! -Pete (talk) 20:04, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
