Sydney "Syd" Abram (14 June 1906 in Hindley, Wigan[1][2] — death unknown) was a professional rugby league footballer of the 1920s and '30s, playing at club level for Wigan, and Bramley (captain), as a Centre, Stand-off/Five-eighth, or Scrum-half/Halfback, i.e. number 3 or 4, 6, or 7.[3]

Challenge Cup final appearances

Syd Abram played either Stand-off/Five-eighth,[4] or Scrum-half/Halfback,[5] and scored a try (the first ever rugby league try at Wembley Stadium) in Wigan's 13-2 victory over Dewsbury in the 1928–29 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 4 May 1929.

County Cup final appearances

Syd Abram played Scrum-half/Halfback in Wigan's 5-4 victory over Widnes in the 1928 Lancashire Cup final during the 1928–29 season at Wilderspool Stadium, Warrington on Saturday 24 November 1928.[6]
