Anwar Maqsood Hameedi (Urdu: انور مقصود حمیدی; b. 1935) commonly known as Anwar Maqsood (Urdu: انور مقصود) is a Pakistani scriptwriter, television host, satirist, humorist, and infrequent actor. He is well known for his artists write ups for Pakistan Television Corporation in late 1970s.[1]
Early life and family
Maqsood was born on 7th September, 1935, in Hyderabad State (now in India), Maqsood studied at the Gulbarga Trust School in Aurangabad.[2] He belongs to a prominent families of Pakistan which includes his sister Fatima Surayya Bajia who is a known writer in Pakistan and South East Asia, his another sister Zohra Nigah known poet, and his brother, Ahmed Maqsood, former Chief Secretary of Sindh and his another sister Zubaida Tariq, is a cooking expert and chef. His wife is a known novelist Imrana Maqsood and son Bilal Maqsood a pop rock and lead guitarist of rock band called Strings.[3]
Career
Maqsood has been associated for many years with Pakistan Television Corporation where he served as presenter for a variety of its shows including Studio Dhai and then Studio Ponayteen along with Show Sha and a large number of others.[4][5]
